Is Scent Fill™ affiliated or owned by with Reckitt Benkiser Inc makers Air Wick®, S.C Johnson makers of Glade®, Yankee Candle® Makers of Scent Plug® or Bath & Body Works® makers of WallFlower®?
No. Scent Fill™ is an independently owned and operated small business operating in Oldsmar, Florida. We are the only plug in refill made in the USA. Our fragrances are also made and developed in the USA by professional chemists, perfumist and aromist. Your plug in refills are manufactured, packaged, picked and shipped in our Oldsmar, Florida headquarters. Our bottles, caps and wick holders are imported from China.
Do Scent Fill refills work With Yankee Candle® Makers of Scent Plug® or Bath & Body Works® WallFlowers®?
No, our refill bottles do not fit the Wallflowers® or Scent Plugs®. We do sell compatible Air Wick scented oil warmers.
How long will my Scent Fill™refill last
This depends on several factors.
1. It depends on your type of plug in warmer / diffuser. Our customers and our testing indicate the Air Wick warmers (With grey fragrance level adjustment for fragrance control on top) enable faster evaporation than the previous Air Wick design (2nd from left in image on top of page) or competing units from Glade and Renuzit.
2. Fragrance setting on warmer. The vast majority of warmers have an adjustable dial for fragrance intensity that usually works by exposing more wick surface to the heating element, resulting in emitting more fragrance because of faster evaporation.
3. It depends on the type scented oil refill you purchased for example the 100% Natural Sanitizing Blend can evaporate within 2 weeks. Most of our scents can last approximately 60 days when warmer is set to low fragrance control.
4. Ambient conditions such as humidity, air circulation and temperature contribute to longevity of refill life. Our testing noted faster evaporation rates in larger rooms.
Why is my bottle not filled to the top?
Our plug in refill bottles are sold as 20 ML. Our precise liquid filling machines use peristaltic pumps for high accuracy. This is the same pump technology used in dialysis machines. Our filling machine is set slightly above 20 ML or .68 OZ. At 20 ML the bottles are filled to the top of the "triangle" in the front of the bottle design. The fiberglass wick will absorb 1.5 ML of fragrance oil during storage and transportation and give the appearance of not being full. You pay for 20 ML you will have at least 20 ML often 21- 22 ML of scented oil. By comparison; Glade brand Plugins contain 19.8 ML, Air Wick refill contain 20 ML and Scent Plug by Yankee Candle contains 18.5 ML of scented oil.
Are your refill bottles glass or plastic?
Are all you plug in refills 100% natural?
No. We offer 3 "tiers" of refills only one tier is all natural. You can filter these categories in the shop menu.
1. Familiar Classic - The familiar classic line is modeled after best selling scents already in the market. All familiar classics contain at natural ingredients all but (mountain air) have two or more natural ingredients . Familiar classic natural essential oil content is usually between 3% and 9%. This is still significantly more natural content than store bought refills that only need .1% to claim "contains natural essential oils" . These may contain synthetic and volatile organic compounds VOC's.
2. Essential Oil- Products in this category all contain at least 2 natural essential oils content ranges greatly usually between 9% and 40% natural content. Essential oil based scents are based on combinations of essential oils e.g spearmint eucalyptus, rosemary mint etc this category may contain synthetics and VOC's
3. All natural- As the name suggest, this category is all natural. They may contain natural isolates which are natural ingredients distilled from natural material. Carrier oils are also all natural. We call out the all natural with a 100% natural icon in the product image.
How should I store my plug in refills?
Natural essential oils are products obtained from vegetable, plant, bark, tree and seed raw material. This natural material is more susceptible to potential degradation especially with exposure to UV and fluorescent lights as well as higher temperatures. Different essential oils have a variety of reactions over different periods of time. We recommend storage in a cool dark area away from sunlight, fluorescent lighting and heat.
Can I adjust the amount of fragrance on my Glade or Air Wick oil warmer?
Always store Scent Fill refills upright especially after receiving in the mail- When you receive your refills, always store bottles upright. Store upright for at least 10 minutes prior to first use. When the bottle is stored on it's side, the scented oil can drain into the cap. This will often happen during shipping. The wick holder is designed with a small pin sized hole to allow fragrance oil accumulated in the cap to drain back into bottle when stored upright.
Do you accept Returns?
Yes. Fragrance is a personal choice and individual taste will vary. Scent Fill understands this- if you are not delighted with your scented oil refills return for exchange or refund. Do you ship to Canada? Yes. Shipping cost to Canada is calculated during checkout. We charge are actual shipping cost around $14.00 and up depending on weight. Shipment is by USPS and Canada post. We have no reported incidents of tariffs or duties being charges to our customers in Canada.

Why is it important to have plug in warmer upright?
Your plug in warmer must be upright or scented oil will drip and leak. The electrical plug on the oil warmer does rotate, so make sure it's plugged in upright as shown below to avoid leaking.
What is the shelf life of my Scent Fill refill?
Your refills are good for a minimum of a year. Scented oil blends containing natural citrus oils such as orange, lemon and bergamot can begin to lose fragrance intensity after a year. Scented oil blends with vanilla or peppermint natural oils tend to discolor to a brown hue over time. This does not necessarily affect the fragrance intensity or characteristics, but usually only the appearance. You may also notice some accelerated discoloration when plug in to your wall warmer unit due to increased heating temperature. If you are used to using synthetic fragrance plug in refills, you likely have not noticed this discoloration that is a result of natural oil content.
Will you disclose your ingredients?
Unfortunately we cannot. We partner with fragrance houses and aromist / chemist for research and development. We are prohibited from disclosing all ingredients under a non-discloser agreement. This agreement is in place primarily to protect proprietary formulations from competitors. Our all natural supplier is over a 100 year old company who uses NPA (Natural Product Association) for all natural certification. We are paying up to 2-10 times the cost per pound for our fragrance than synthetic store bought type formulations. Our natural formulas may contain natural isolates. Isolates have been “isolated” from their natural sources using the least invasive methods of extraction, usually separated using fractional distillation. While many isolates have unnatural sounding names, they are distinguished from synthetics because they are odor molecules separated from natural materials. The use of isolates is standard in modern natural perfumery. We can provide allergen statements and natural content certification on request.
Do natural ingredients have any disadvantages?
Yes. Natural ingredients are not as consistent as synthetic ingredients. Natural ingredients are extracted from plants, trees, bark, fruits and seeds which are subject to weather and a number of natural conditions. Sources of our ingredients can vary from different regions based on crop conditions. Characteristics of the same natural ingredient can vary from region to region.
Natural ingredients usually have less shelf life than synthetic ingredients. It's a good idea to keep your natural refills away from sunlight. Natural ingredients can discolor over time, especially natural vanilla which can appear to brown in appearance. Keep in mind organic matter is subject to decomposition, so it's best to use your refill within a year.
Why do some refill wicks in my plug in refill turn brown over time?
Our refills use porous PET fiberglass wicks with a density designed to maximize absorption and evaporation without becoming clogged. The natural oils, predominantly blends with vanilla and peppermint have material absorbed in and filtered by the wick that leave color as they pass up through the wick.
My Scent Fill refill bottle is loose in my Glade® plugin in warmer..How can I fix this?
On occasion we have seen our refill bottles fit loosely in the Glade® scented oil warmers. In new Glade warmers, our bottles "snap" firmly into place with upward pressure. The glass triangle (left image) creates a pressure point on plastic cover of the Glade oil warmer. The Scent Fill refill will fit a new Glade warmer firmly and will require moderate downward pressure to snap out the bottle which. Over time, outward pressure on Glade plastic cover reduces pressure on the pressure point. Rest assured, our bottles fit new warmers for years of usage. Glade or Air Wick warmers have a low retail price point, typically less than $2 at big box retailers, grocers and drug stores. We carry the Air Wick Oil Warmer . For customers experiencing any issues we have provided warmers and reimbursement for purchase of warmers. Our goal is your long term business for fragrance refills and we will quickly resolve any warmer related issues.

The use of scented oil plug in warmers is extended beyond residential air care. The convenience of low maintenance, long lasting fragrance is used in numerous commercial applications requiring bulk purchasing. Unlike ionic diffusers which require cleaning and constantly adding essential oils, a plug in refill is placed in a warmer to deliver continuous fragrance for up to 90 days.
