5 Plug in Air Freshener Scents That Please Crowds Not Polarize

Michelle’s Top 5 best scents to please rather than polarize!

We are drawn to a scent for many reasons: because it reminds us of our favorite flowers or foods, they might be triggers for cherished memories we experienced as children or as adults. The sense of smell is closely linked with memory, probably more so than any of our other senses.

There is a scientific reason for this that involves the amygdala and hippocampus or some other Latin-named part of the brain I won’t go into because frankly, I’m not qualified to explain it properly. Let's just say people who study these types of things tell us that scent has a powerful effect in triggering memories and emotions.

Scents are also by their very nature can be very polarizing while one person might adore the scent of “Lavender” another might have an allergy attack. It’s difficult to imagine purchasing a scent thinking, “Here is a fragrance that will make my family gag.” Yet we have all done it one time or another by accident. Maybe it was a detergent whose label promised it would make your laundry smell like a summer breeze, only to cause your child to have sneezing fits or maybe it was your attempt at buying your husband a cologne that listed words like: “wood, leather, musk” as it’s descriptors only to discover that what it really meant was, prepare to smell like humid, rotting, wood for the next 6 hours. (note to self: “never again”.)

So we know scents can be very subjective, some notes are considered patently more challenging than others, But there are also those scents that are by and large guaranteed crowd-pleasers.

If you are planning to add some olfactory ambiance to your living space with Scent Fill’s incredible collection of 100% natural plug-ins, here is a personally curated top 5 list of what I think are sure to please even the most “scent-sensitive” in your household.

Spiced Chai
Who doesn’t love the smell of chai? In-fact chai is an absolute international favorite. Plug right into your favorite cup of warm, spicy chai right from your wall outlet with Scent Fill's Spiced Chai scented oil refill! This dead-ringer scent features warm, creamy vanilla notes lifted on a cloud of spices, nutmeg, cloves, and cinnamon. Balanced with a hint of citrus (tangerine leaf oil) and a little bit of balsam to round out this simple, yet complex scent, this is the real deal.

Cucumber & Basil
Fresh basil, immersed in pools of cucumber, what better way to create a calming atmosphere than by making your living room carry the scent of a relaxing spa day. Close your eyes, block out the external chatter, and fall in love with Scent Fill’s 100% Natural Cucumber Basil scented oil refill. This 100% Natural addition to our Scent Fill line promotes relaxation and clarity.
Just do it – pull your shoulders back, inhale slowly, and exhale purposefully.

Clean Air
This unique, all-natural plug-in refill is one-of-a-kind in its ability to actually eliminate unpleasant odors, rather than cover them up with fragrance like most other air-fresheners on the market today. Mildly aromatic, and slightly less noticeable to the nose than our other products, this scent combines peppermint, jasmine, and oak moss, to create a fresh, clean, subtle scent. The real star of this show is the all-natural oak moss essential oil. Aside from its warm, woodsy, earthy scent, oak moss has inherent deodorizing properties, and is even used in many natural stick deodorants and sprays sold by personal hygiene retailers. Combine the properties of oak moss, and the clean properties of peppermint, this blend is perfect to eliminate odors.

Peppermint
This cool, refreshing peppermint scent can energize your mind and elevate your senses any time of year. A favorite among customers sensitive to synthetic perfumes, or those with allergies or respiratory problems, many of our returning customers have finally found a product that fills a room with the pleasant and invigorating scent of peppermint, without irritating respiratory sensitivities. Various studies confirm peppermint has mood elevating properties, making this all-natural scent a favorite for the workplace.

Eucalyptus
This refill energizes your home or office with the timeless, classic scent of real eucalyptus. Much like mint, inhaling eucalyptus opens your sinuses and clears your head. However, the aroma also contains some hints of the forest, which some people describe as sweet and similar to honey.
